Instructions

Vegetable Biryani

Ingredients

  • ½ cup basmati rice
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • ½ carrot, diced
  • ¼ bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ teaspoon garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cooking / Baking

  • Total cook time: 45 minutes

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then soak in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee in the large saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  4. Add onions, carrot, and bell pepper; sauté until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  5. Stir in garam masala and coriander powder; sauté for another minute.
  6. Drain the rice and add it to the pan, stirring to combine.
  7. Pour in 1 ¼ cups water and add ¼ teaspoon salt.
  8. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  9. Allow to rest with the lid on for 5 minutes before serving.

Mango Lassi

Ingredients

  • 1 mango, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder

Cooking / Baking

Instructions

  1. Combine mango, yogurt, milk, sugar, and cardamom in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.

Indian Pale Ale

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of Indian Pale Ale

Instructions

  1. Chill the Indian Pale Ale for at least 1 hour before serving.
  2. Pour into glasses and serve alongside the meal.

3. LINEAR TIMELINE (3:50 PM–5:00 PM)

  • 3:50 PM: Begin cooking Butter Chicken by heating oil in the medium saucepan.
  • 4:10 PM: Start preparing the Vegetable Biryani; rinse the basmati rice.
  • 4:15 PM: Continue with Butter Chicken by adding tomato puree and simmering.
  • 4:20 PM: Soak rice and chop vegetables for the Biryani.
