What happens after the trial?
Every new account starts on Plus for 14 days with no card — three weeks if a friend sent you. When it ends, nothing is charged and the account becomes the free plan: one Sunday dinner a week, in your inbox on Thursday, from 18 cuisines, with the menu, timeline and shopping list on the site. It stays that way for as long as you like. What goes is what Plus adds: the night you pick, up to three dinners a week, skip or move a plan when Sunday falls through, 40 cuisines instead of 18, and the plan as a PDF in the aisle. Reserve is for the table with opinions — a named seat for everyone, your own cooking window, and one dish swapped without touching the other three. Keep Plus any time before the end and nothing changes.
How do you calculate the per-plate cost?
Start with the annual price. Divide it by 52 weeks: $1.90 a week on Plus, $2.87 on Reserve. Then divide the week by the number of plans the tier can run in it: three on Plus, seven on Reserve. Reserve allows up to ten; we count seven because that is how many dinners a household eats in a week. Then divide by a table of four, the size of the average Five Sharp household. Plus is $99 ÷ 52 ÷ 3 ÷ 4, about 16¢ a plate. Reserve is $149 ÷ 52 ÷ 7 ÷ 4, about 10¢ a plate. At your own table size the number moves, and the onboarding screen shows it for the household you told us about.
What happens if I cancel?
You cancel yourself, from the billing page, with no email to anyone. You keep everything through the end of the period you paid for, then the account goes back to the free plan: one Sunday a week, your last five weeks of history, and any plans you saved. Nothing is deleted.
Can I switch between Plus and Reserve, or monthly and annual?
Yes, from the same billing page. Stripe prorates the difference, so moving up mid-month charges only the remainder and moving down credits it.
What’s a regen, and how many does Reserve get?
A regen rebuilds the whole plan from your feedback. Free and Plus share a pool of 3 builds per plan week — the first counts as one, leaving two do-overs. Reserve is capped at 15 generations in any rolling 24 hours, which normal use never meets, and adds single-dish swap so you can keep three dishes and change one.
What’s the priority queue?
Reserve plans enter the generation queue ahead of other tiers, so when several plans are due at once yours is built first.
